Have given in and bought an iPhone. Too many random shut downs in the middle of phone calls. Never did get the calendar and contacts to work properly, despite setting up my own Owncloud server.
Will miss my little keyboard. Moving between apps and pages by swiping up, swiping left was all very lovely. Copying and pasting was easy. But you had to learn how to do these things first – the way the area under the screen was used could hardly be called intuitive. Once you know how, of course, it’s like second nature.
I liked the Just type feature – just start typing something, a known contact or bookmark would come up, or more usually, the Google button to start searching straight away.
Notifications were nice, sitting politely at the bottom of the screen, although they could start stacking up.
I liked the fact you can just mount the Pre as a drive and drag stuff over.
Looking forward to the world of apps!. Worried about not having a keyboard though, given how much text I write. Copying and pasting seems a hassle.
Still using my Palm T5 for isilo and word/excel documents! Pre could display them but you couldn’t search! And given the lack of 3G signal in the hospital (and more recently, in France) any sort of cloud solution is still less than ideal for me, when it comes to documents.
