Not an iPhone

My mobile has always underwhelmed me.  So much promise, so little actually achieved.  Have never managed to read or send an email.  Internet is excruciatingly difficult and slow.  All I can say is that I have managed to surf the net on my palm via my phone.  I keep hoping for a better phone that will do what it's supposed to do.  Using Larry's Treo was fun, but didn't get to really try it out.

So what I would like to try is:

widsets.com – java widgets for phone eg rss, email, wiki, flickr

BBC (wap.bbc.co.uk)Menus are stripped down, the hot news topic is always placed at
the top of the home page. Video headlines may work on some.

Tiggdo (uk.tiggdo.com)build your own portal. Displays your favourite RSS feeds

Mail2Wap (mail2wap.com)free service that can check your ordinary Pop3 e-mail account for new messages and send replies from
even the most mundane handset.
  Invaluable, though new messages are
not sent automatically to the phone, and you
can’t access your entire inbox.

Yahoo! Mobile (wap.yahoo.co.uk)plenty of mobile-specific content and the option to explore further
with a full web search. It strips down full web pages for mobile browsing
(although not as quickly or successfully as Google or Opera Mini) and includes
an image search. Mobile versions of e-mail, calendar and instant messaging are
offered to surfers with free Yahoo! accounts.

Google Maps (www.google.com/gmm)
choose US language, get UK directions
!

But what about Traffic info? Service station info? Rail station
facilities?
