Holiday in Lagnakeil, Oban

More 70s country house than a cottage, but hey, there's a fire and a swing seat on the porch, plus a view down to the loch.

Gorgeous weather.  Tobermory/Ballamory from kids' perspective, with Connolly-esque commentary by bus drivers.

Tesco's in Oban many, many times.  Nice cafe at the back of the car park.  Kitchen Garden deli in Oban excellent, and a mezzanine cafe. Martin recommended the Waterfront by the ferry terminal but didn't go.  Fancied barbecuing some seafood but that didn't happen either.  Visited McCaig's folly for the first time! Just realized that the bedbug I thought I had at the youth hostel in 1990 was actually a tick.

Ganavan beach (no dogs), view to Morvern. Ben Cruachan like a dogtooth. Inverawe smokery to feed the fish and walk round lovely loch (woodpecker).

"Ceilidh" at Great Western on Thursday night – "not really a ceilidh, more a Scottish exhibition".  How old are the crowd in there, Mark asks the waiter unashamedly.  "40yrs older than you lot, he says, so pub quiz at Coasters (nice cornicing) then Tequila at O'Donnells with Jif and Mark. Stags across the road on the way back.

Great star gazing.

I get Kaluki (the Curle's rummy-like card game)! Beer in the afternoon at the Barn (Hoegaarden, Heather ale), forest above leads to lochan with heron.
