Best of 2007 in Music

Steven Lindsay
Kate Nash
Rosabella Gregory
Regina Spektor – yes, the year of tori amos reincarnations, but they're all brilliant!
Afroreggae – brazilian beats to african flavours
Matisyahu – never thought reggae could be this good
Jo Mango – that amazing mbira song

Jamie Woon – singer songwriter to watch, has been supporting Newton Faulkner
Ross Baird – singer songwriter from Mull
KT Tunstall – OK, a bit late here, but in my defence I did see her breakthrough performance on Jools, and thought "tremendous talent, but a bit country for me…"  In fact she is tremendously versatile, and it seems in the US she is seen as more as a rock chick, whereas here she is more indie.
Omar Sosa and Dhafer Youssef – heard their live set on the radio, astonishing, what I always think jazz should be but rarely is…
Ray LaMontagne – heard first on TV, ER no less.  Like a voice from a previous generation
Thom Yorke – Eraser.  Never comfortable listening, but the world seems a more extraordinary place for his music.
