Best of 2010 pt 1 – music

Have really enjoyed Frightened Rabbit this year (The Winter of Mixed Drinks), whole album excellent. Swimmer One had another album, quite uneven, some of the same electrodisco which I love when they do it, and not when anyone else does it. But also the fabulous “Fakester Resurrection”, over 12 minutes long of Nymanesque strings and piano, and containing the immortal line “It starts with a panic on Sauchiehall St”.
Alicia Keys, Newton Faulkner and the Script had great albums, nothing too surprising. I only just got round to Keane’s Perfect Symmetry, which I missed completely but really like, and a bit different. V little world music this year, not sure why, maybe because I have been listening to podcasts more than Radio Scotland.
